Hi! I’m Jennifer Hanes MS, RDN, LD (Dietitian Jenn).

I believe in honest and clear communication, so I want to explain how I work, how I’m compensated, and how I utilize technology, such as AI, in creating content.

Affiliate relationships

I participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn income by discussing products and linking to Amazon.com.

Occasionally, I also participate in various other affiliate programs, and I may earn a commission if you click one of my affiliate links and make a qualifying purchase. This is part of their expected marketing expenses and comes at no extra cost to you.

My intention is always to share products I genuinely believe will help vegetarian-oriented multivore families like yours. I make recommendations based on my own research and experience. If I link to something I haven’t personally used, but looks interesting or helpful, I will clearly state that.

Any commissions I may earn do not influence my editorial decisions or cause me to promote inferior (or unnecessarily expensive) products.

Free products, gifts, and sponsorships

On rare occasions, I may receive free products, samples, or sponsored opportunities. When I do, I’ll clearly disclose that the product was provided to me at no cost.

Regardless, I will only share items that I believe align with the values of vegetarian/multivore families and support your busy life and nutrition priorities.

Placement of disclosure

Because transparency is important, affiliate or other relationship disclosures appear at the beginning of any blog post, email, or social post that contains affiliate links, so you always know when I may earn compensation.

Content & professional scope

As a registered dietitian, I aim to offer evidence-based, practical advice for busy families.

That said, the content on this site, social media, and related digital products is intended for general informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for one-on-one nutrition or medical advice.

If you have a specific health condition, please consult a qualified professional for personalized guidance.

Use of AI in content production

I believe in being open about the tools I use to create and improve this website. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of those tools, but it’s exactly that: a tool, not a replacement for my expertise or professional judgment.

AI helps me streamline certain aspects of my business and processes, allowing me to spend more time on what matters most: creating helpful, trustworthy content for you. Here’s how I use it across my work:

1. Idea development and research organization

I use AI to help brainstorm topics, organize outlines, and identify common questions readers are asking about vegetarian nutrition, meal planning, and multivore family life.

These conversations start with me providing direction. For example, the audience I’m writing for, the purpose of the post, and my personal boundaries as a dietitian (like avoiding weight-focused or stigmatizing content).

AI helps me organize this information into a clear plan, but I decide what ideas to keep, adjust, or reject based on my professional experience.

I also use it as a form of a brain dump. My ADHD-brain has lots of ideas. AI tools let me put all of these ideas onto “paper” and filters through them, giving recommendations to incorporate this idea now (yes! Write THAT article), save it for later (cool thought, but not important right now), or scrap (that won’t help anyone).

Sometimes I like its input, and sometimes I don’t. But that in and of itself is helpful, as it highlights what I think is important and discerns it from the rest of the jumbled thoughts in my brain.

2. Drafting and Editing

Once I know what I want to write about, I have AI ask me a series of questions about the topic. Examples include: “What is the most important thing you want to say about this?” “What should be included no matter what?” and “What do you want to leave out?”

If the article requires a lot of research, I do that myself first, then give AI my conclusions as well as any gray areas in the research, such as inconclusive data or mixed results.

I then have it draft an outline. This is primarily to avoid that “white screen of death” that sometimes happens. I rearrange the outline, removing or adding parts as needed, and then write out the first draft.

Because I tend to be quite wordy, I also use AI to edit my writing. I ask it to make suggestions to make what I wrote clearer or more concise. Again, sometimes I take its suggestions and sometimes I don’t.

I also ask AI to challenge me. Argue against what I wrote, so that I make sure that I have covered all of my bases or considered every point of view possible.

Finally, after I have finished writing and editing, I have AI break down the post into “bite-sized chunks” to use on Facebook and Pinterest.

3. Maintaining accuracy and integrity

While AI can summarize research or generate structured outlines, I don’t rely on it for clinical nutrition guidance or health claims. All factual information is cross-checked with credible, evidence-based sources (such as peer-reviewed journals, professional dietetics guidelines, and trusted databases) by me.

My professional judgment as a registered dietitian always guides every part of the writing and creation process.

4. Other Uses

Sometimes I ask AI for guidance on creating products, organizing my site, or identifying missing or redundant content to better help you. (For example, the idea for my no-cook series was sparked from a somewhat unrelated suggestion from AI, that I then took and ran with). I think of this more as “guided brainstorming” than an actual plan.

5. Data and Privacy

When I use AI tools, I never upload private client information or sensitive personal data. My conversations with AI are limited to educational and content development purposes only.

6. My Promise to Readers

AI helps me work more efficiently, but every word on this site still reflects my professional values and voice. My intention is always to make vegetarian nutrition more approachable and realistic for busy families, not to automate connection or expertise, or manipulate facts and opinions.

You can count on me to be transparent about when and how AI supports my work, and to always maintain human oversight in everything I share.

Privacy policy & data

Your trust matters to me. For information about how I collect, store, and use data (for example, when you subscribe to email or purchase a digital product), please review the Privacy Policy linked in the footer.
